Russian stocks may fall on negative foreign background

MOSCOW, Dec 10 (PRIME) -- Russian stocks may decrease at the opening on Thursday amid a moderately negative foreign background, analysts said.

The U.S. stock indices fell by 0.3–1.9%, the U.S. stock index futures are trading mixed, European indices closed in a slight plus, and Asian indices are not showing single dynamics, Olma senior analyst Anton Startsev said.

“Consolidation on the RTS index remains a relevant scenario in the short term. The situation on global stock markets looks less favorable than before, but the downward correction on the U.S. stock market is largely due to sales in the high-tech sector, while demand remains in the commodity sectors,” Startsev said.

Alor Broker analyst Alexei Antonov projects that the MOEX Russia Index will decrease at the opening on weak dynamics of Western floors late on Wednesday.
